Annie Dolan, born in Wyoming in 1956, moved to Eastern Nebraska in the mid 60’s. With a love for and desire to participate in the arts, she graduated from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln in 1980 with a major in Interior Design and minors in Art, Art History, and Business.
Annie works primarily in mixed media with an eye for pairings of colors and lines in abstract compositions, shade and shadow. Her compositions are available as original works and limited edition prints.
During her senior year at the University of Nebraska Lincoln, her works were featured in a show paying tribute to Professor Robert Hillestad and the accomplishments of his students. Immediately following graduation, Annie began to work the design field as a designer and artist. Annie’s career has been dedicated to the arts, fellow artists, and the visual arts industry. Annie currently resides in Lincoln, Nebraska and works in her private studio.
Kay Apking
Kay Apking, born in Ohio in 1957, returned to college to develop the finer points of her artistic skills and pursue her dream of maturing into an active member of the visual arts industry. As a non-traditional student, she majored in art at Peru State Collegein Nebraska, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in 1996.
Kay works primarily with pastels to develop an artisitic reality of delicate color, shade and shadow. She extensively blends colors to fill her landscapes and still life compositions with a presence of color and shadowing sensitivity. The spontaniety of her work comes not only from the objects which are used to create her compositions, but also from the energy and force of the colors and their blends.
During her senior year at Peru, Kay’s works were featured in the campus’ gallery, won awards, and were included in traveling juried shows. Following graduation, her work was featured in a one woman show in the Jhindra Art Gallery of Peru State College. In addition to her works being represented by dealers across the country, her originals appear in numerous galleries, regional shows, and in private collections domestically and internationally. Her works have also been shown and sold at the International Art Expos of Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and New York.
Kay currently resides in Beatrice, Nebraska and works in her private studio.
